Alison has been a part of the North West Disability Services team since 2011. Alison came from an Accommodation Services background before she transitioned to NWDS, into the Day Program environment. After finishing her University Degree, Alison had stepped into working with people with a disability without any prior experience and developed a love for it instantly. Alison is the Coordinator for Conie Ave. and enjoys working with the large team that it takes to ensure the smooth running of a busy centre. Alison enjoys the diversity of her role, that she is able to see the joy and achievement from our participants as well as contribute and support the journey of their families. It has been incredibly rewarding to see the changes in the years that she has been in her role; the independence that the participants have achieved, the maturity and the many dreams realized. Alison enjoys being able to see the learning and development of the staff that work at within the Conie ave. centre and the team work that is displayed. Alison finds it incredibly valuable to acknowledge the great sense of community that has been built over the years and how amazing it is to see what a difference the little things each day can make.
