On Thursday the 26th of May 2016, North West Disability Services held their showcase at the Conie Ave site.
The morning started off with lots of cooking and fundraising to support the Cancer Councils Annual Biggest Morning Tea event. This was a great success with us raising $150 for the event.
As this was happening, the day was starting to be put together with stalls on display in the backyard. There were stalls on display from Scrapbooking and Photography, Art Therapy, Sewing, a white Elephant stall, Riding for the Disabled and Saddle Club. One of the lovely little Ponies called ‘Kitty’ even made the trek down from Richmond for the occasion.
There were lots of entertainment to be had on the day with great music played throughout the backyard from our very own ‘music man’ Mark Hellmrich and lots of dancing on the basketball court.
Marianne Edington-Sheather, our very own ‘Zumba instructor’ put on a very engaging and active Zumba display in the Community Centre, with lots of people joining in on the fun.
There was lots of delicious multicultural food being sold and served up by Maree Curmi, Cam Van Duong, Binish Muhammed and Hemma Vaidyanathan.
