Carers Drop Off Morning Tea




WHEN:      March 13th

WHO:        Any carer who would like to attend
WHERE:   Lavender Cottage, Building 33 in the Balcombe Heights Estate (on Seven Hills Rd, opposite Jasper Rd School)

At a recent evaluation meeting it was stated, by the Carers who have been attending this morning tea, it is a wonderful opportunity to regularly get together with those who have similar concerns, joys and loads - “it is a great time to just sit and chat with others who know what it is like”

We invite you to feel welcome to come along to the beautiful surrounds of Lavender Cottage, enjoy some delicious home baked morning tea, a cuppa and the relaxing company of new friends. For further information call Frances, Rhonda, or Michelle on 9686 4561. 


Camps and Outing: 


Camp One - 21st –23rd March, South Coast Retreat at Windang Tourist Park
Cost : Approximately $550
Visit the South Coast and stay on the beach for two nights. While there, see The Australian Motorlife Museum and the Kiama Light House. On the way home stop at the Symbio Wildlife Park 
Each year there are a range of 3 and 4 day user pay camps offered to service users.  They offer time away and allow service users to socialise and promote independent skills while carers can enjoy some well deserved respite!


NWDS Discos: Conie Ave, Baulkham Hills (Friday, 6:00pm - 9:00pm), $10 cost including food & drinks, carers free

NWDS hosts Friday night discos monthly at the main building from 6pm – 9pm for a small entry fee.  Each disco has an exciting theme and allows service users to dress up and then get down and boogie while building friendships and confidence.  There are disco lights, groovy music, decorations, light supper, games, competitions and raffles – a great night all round!

Support requirements need to be negotiated with the Disco Co-ordinator prior to attendance and all service users with personal care or behaviour requirements must be supported by a carer due to limited staffing on the night!  The aim of these events is for everyone to have a safe and fun time.
